How to Take Photos for Your Virtual Neurotoxin Follow-Up
Your two-week follow-up matters.
After your first neurotoxin appointment (Botox, Dysport, or similar), we schedule a virtual check-in around day 14. This is when your treatment has fully settled — and when we can accurately evaluate your results.
To assess symmetry and muscle movement, we need a few specific photos.
Here’s exactly how to take them:
Step 1: Position Yourself Correctly
Use good, natural lighting (facing a window is ideal).
Hold your phone at eye level.
Get close — but not too close.
Make sure your full forehead and brows are clearly in frame.
Remove hats or heavy makeup if possible.
We want to clearly see muscle movement, not filters or shadows.
Step 2: Take These Two Expressions
We need photos of you animating, not resting.
1️⃣ Raise Your Forehead
Lift your eyebrows as high as you possibly can.
Even if nothing moves — that’s helpful.
2️⃣ Make a “Squinty” Face
Scrunch your brows and squint tightly.
Again, even if you can’t move much, that tells us the treatment is working.
It may feel a little funny. That’s okay. These expressions help us evaluate effectiveness and make sure everything settled to perfection.
Why Day 14?
Neurotoxin takes about 10–14 days to fully bind to the targeted muscles.
Evaluating too early can give us incomplete information.
At the two-week mark, we can determine:
Is movement softened appropriately?
Is symmetry balanced?
Do you need a small adjustment?
Our goal is always a refreshed, natural look — never frozen.
