Aura 3D Imaging Is Here: What Your First Scan Looks Like
Aura 3D imaging is now available at our Penn Township location. If you've been curious about what a 3D scan shows, or how it changes a consultation, here's exactly what to expect.
What happens during an Aura scan?
You sit comfortably while Aura's cameras and lighting capture a photo-realistic 3D model of your face and neck. The scan itself takes moments, with no prep, discomfort, or downtime. Your provider then reviews the model with you, showing skin detail and facial structure the mirror can't.
Step by step
Arrive with clean skin. Makeup-free skin gives the clearest read. If you come straight from work, we'll give you a few minutes to cleanse.
The scan. You sit in front of the device, relax your face, and hold still for a moment. Some scans also capture expressions, like a smile or a frown, so we can see how lines form when your face moves.
Your 3D model. Within moments, a detailed model of your face and neck appears. We can rotate it, zoom in, and look at it from angles you never see yourself.
The conversation. We walk through what Aura shows about your skin (lines, pores, texture, redness, pigmentation) and your structure (proportions, symmetry, volume), and we talk about what matters to you.
Your plan. If you want treatment, we build a plan around what you want to change. If you only wanted to understand your skin, that's fine too.
Why your second scan matters as much as your first
Aura captures images the same way every time, with the same lighting and positioning. That makes your scans comparable over months and years. You can see how your skin responds to a Skin Reset Program, how a biostimulator series builds over time, or how your filler has settled, without relying on memory or phone photos taken in different light.
