A mirror shows you one angle, in one light, on one day. It doesn't show you how your face moves, where volume has shifted, or what your skin looked like six months ago. That's a hard place to start a treatment plan from, for you and for us.
That's why MPWR is bringing Aura 3D imaging to our Penn Township location.
What is Aura 3D imaging?
Aura is a Swiss-made 3D facial imaging system developed by Hexagon. In a single quick scan, multiple cameras and specialized lighting capture a photo-realistic 3D model of your face and neck. Your provider can rotate, zoom, and analyze that model to see skin and facial structure in detail the eye can't catch.
What Aura looks at
Aura analyzes several layers of what you see in the mirror:
Skin surface: fine lines and wrinkles, pores, texture, redness, and pigmentation such as sun spots
Expression: how lines form when your face moves
Structure: facial proportions, symmetry, angles, and volume, including how volume shifts over time
Why it matters for your treatment plan
Our approach has always been goals first, menu second. Aura makes that conversation more precise. Instead of pointing at a mirror and guessing, we can look at your 3D model together, talk about what you're seeing, and build a plan around measurable starting points.
It also changes how you see progress. Aura captures standardized images every time, with the same lighting and positioning. That means your before-and-after comparisons are consistent, whether you're tracking a biostimulator series that builds over months, a skin program like the Skin Reset Program, or how your filler has settled.
And it supports restraint. When we can measure where volume has changed, we can place product where it's needed and skip where it isn't. That's how natural-looking results stay natural.
What to expect during a scan
The scan is quick and non-invasive. You sit comfortably while the device captures your image. There's no prep, no discomfort, and no downtime. Your provider then walks you through the results.

Time: a few minutes for the scan, plus time to review results with your provider
Prep: none required; arriving with clean skin gives the clearest read
Best for: new patients building a plan, existing patients tracking progress, and anyone curious about their skin before committing to a treatment
